Certificate in Administrative Professional Office Management

Introduction

The programme is designed to provide a cadre of trained administrative professionals at the junior and middle administrative levels across the Caribbean region. Graduates of the Certificate will hold a qualification that is marketable in the workplace. And at the same time provide for entry to further academic study and for credit exemption for some courses.

This Programme carries normal matriculation status to UWI Degree programmes.

 

Who is this programme for?

This programme is mounted with the aim of providing Administrative officers in Executive positions with the knowledge and skills to carry out their functions more effectively.

 

Programme Structure

Year one consists of two semesters and a summer session and Year two consists of one semester.

Classes are held twice/trice weekly, Monday-Friday 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., Saturday 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon, 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and Sunday 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon.

 

When will the programme start?

This programme starts in August and normally runs for one and a half years.

 

Entry Requirements

Applicants should normally have five (5) '0' Levels (or equivalent), including English Language, Mathematics and three other relevant subjects, or mature students who do not strictly meet the academic requirements but have seven (7)' years or more experience as a Secretary or Administrative Assistant may be considered for admission.
