This course will examine some areas of law that mid-level managers encounter in business.It will focus on the basic commercial aspects of law. This will provide participants with a clear understanding of the law of contracts, tort, and forms of enterprises. It will also examine the role of law in society, including sources of law and the process of law. Emphasis will be placed on regional sources of law. Participants will study aspects of agency, sale of goods and property law and are exposed to the legal aspects necessary for the office professional. Studying and evaluating court cases, presented in the textbook and from other sources, will be an integral part of this course. The cases make the study of law more meaningful and interesting for participants and also stimulate critical thinking.
