The University of the West Indies has established itself as a pillar of higher education in the Caribbean through educating and empowering generations of students to have a positive effect on their communities and beyond.

The UWI 75th anniversary is being celebrated across the five campuses and the wider Caribbean region with a range of activities and events. In St Kitts and Nevis, January 7th was declared “UWI Day” by the former Governor-General Sir Tapley Seaton. Locally planned activities include an inter-faith service to be held in March at the Wesleyan Methodist Church, Basseterre, St Kitts, social events for alumni and current students, public lectures, a research symposium, a lunch-and-learn series, and other activities. A special invitation is extended to alumni, family and friends of the UWI to attend the 75th anniversary activities.
