The Special Initiatives Unit comprises three members of staff in the roles of Head, Programme Officer and Secretary. The work of the Unit is focused on attracting grant funding and seeking out viable funded projects, that implementing units across the Campus can execute successfully.
The Unit also maintains a database of projects and their personnel including SMEs and other technical experts for future use; maintains records for any follow up project activities or to guide any new or similar projects; and provides oversight for funded projects and initiatives through internal monitoring and evaluation mechanisms.
