On Thursday, March 19, 2026 the Women and Development Unit (WAND) hosted its International Women’s Day Panel Discussion “Give to Gain: Through Education and Digital Access”.
The welcome address was given by Dr. Francis Severin, Pro-Vice Chancellor and Principal of UWI, Global Campus.
The panelists included:
- Dr. Luz Longsworth - Senior Corporate Director, Sandals Corporate University
- Dr. Emily Dick-Forde - Deputy Principal, UWI Global Campus
- Mrs. Karen Ford-Warner - Mediator and Professional Coach
- Mrs. Tracey Edwards-Greaves – Chief Information Officer, UWI Global Campus
- Moderator - Mrs. Colleen Robinson-Hunte, Programme Officer at WAND.
The panel discussion highlighted one of the themes of International Women’s Day, 2026 “Give to Gain” which emphasizes that giving back by investing time and mentoring women fosters the growth of more equitable communities.
The panelists came with knowledge and expertise in the areas of higher education management, the law, sustainable finance, strategic management and technology. They shared their expertise, unique insights and perspectives.
The career journeys, oral histories, honest insights of the panelists highlighted key aspects of “Give to Gain”:
Shared progress - empowering women is an advancement for everyone
Generosity - sharing experiences to create lasting change and build confidence in young girls and women
Support – women supporting women by sharing their experiences, challenges and successes.
