Franchises
Several institutions have been franchised to offer part or all of some University
programmes (the following abbreviations have been used - CBA = Certificate in Business
Administration; CMS = Certificate in Management Studies; CPA = Certificate in Public
Administration; CSS = Certificate in Social Services):
- Antigua State College: level I of several BA and BSc programmes; level II for some BSc
Social Sciences programmes
- B & B Institute of Business, Jamaica: CMS
- Bahamas Baptist Community College: CMS, CPA (Special)
- Bethlehem Moravian College, Jamaica: CMS, CPA
- Brown's Town Community College, Jamaica: CMS, CPA; generic BScN programme (for
persons who have not yet received training as registered nurses)
- Clarence Fitzroy Bryant College, St Kitts: franchising of level I programmes
- Erdiston Teachers' College, Barbados: Diploma and Certificates in Education
- EXED Community College, Jamaica: CMS, CPA, CSS
- H. Lavitty Stoutt Community College, British Virgin Islands: franchising or joint
delivery of BA and BSc with Education (approved but not yet offered)
- Institute of Management and Production, Jamaica: level I of some BSc Social Sciences
programmes; CMS, CPA, CSS
- Institute of Management Studies, Jamaica: CMS
- Jamaica Constabulary Staff College: CPA (Special)
- Jamaica Institute of Management: CMS, CPA
- Knox Community College, Jamaica: CMS, CPA, CSS
- Management Institute for National Development, Jamaica: CMS, CPA; level I
BSc in Public Administration
- Moneague Community College, Jamaica: CMS, CPA
- Montego Bay Community College, Jamaica: CMS, CPA, CSS
- Police Staff College, Jamaica: Certificate in Public Administration
- Portmore Community College, Jamaica: Certificate programmes in Social Sciences
- Sir Arthur Lewis Community
College*, St Lucia: BEd in Educational Administration; level I of several BA and BSc
programmes; level II for some BSc Social Sciences programmes
The Preliminary Year programme in Natural Sciences has also been franchised to several
Community Colleges in Jamaica (Brown's Town, Excelsior, Knox, and Montego Bay), other
institutions are planning to offer it (Bethlehem TC, College of Agriculture, Science, and
Educaton, Moneague TC); it has also been delivered by the School of Continuing Studies in
Barbados and in Trinidad. The Social Welfare Training Centre, part of the School of
Continuing Studies in Jamaica, has also been franchised to offer the Certificate in Social
Studies.
