EDITORIAL
As we publish this edition of The UWI Quality Circle (QC), across our region and the world, nations are redefining their fight for health and economic survival. The advent of COVID-19 has brought into stark relief the importance of a focus on continuous quality improvement, the foundation of The UWI Quality Policy (QP) 2017. For educational institutions, the challenge is indeed complex. In this issue, our Pro Vice-Chancellors provide key insights on strategies employed to implement the QP.
We are excited as well to introduce the QAU’s newest portfolio, that of our most recently established Campus, The UWI Five Islands Campus, located in Antigua & Barbuda.
At The UWI macro level, the approach used by the campuses to radically adjust their teaching and assessment plans as per our COVID-19 response strategy also fits the continuous improvement model.
Significantly, in this issue we also celebrate the consistently outstanding contribution of Dr. Sandra Gift, our colleague, friend and mentor. She is one of the founding members of the QAU and The UWI Quality Circle - see the full center spread.
