PROC010

This course provides participants with an overview of the ever-changing profession of procurement giving a description of the environment in which procurement occurs while identifying fundamental concepts in the discipline. It will also link procurement and the other organisational functions.

PROC020

This course will expose participants to some of the main economic and management themes underlying effective management of the procurement function. Some of these include the total cost of ownership, the economics of framework agreements, contract bundling, among others.

PROC030

The Procurement cycle calls for various steps such as planning and preparing bid documents, publishing bid notices, receiving and evaluating bids, awarding of contracts and managing of contracts. This course will pay special attention to these topics using needs analyses and the development of procurement plans. 

PROC040

Inventories are crucial in the operation of any organisation and require proper planning, managing and controlling in order to achieve efficiency and maintain profit margins. As such, participants will be equipped with the knowledge and skills required to manage assets, inventory and records in a procurement environment.

PROC050

This course on risk management introduces the definition of risk, the purpose of risk management and discusses steps towards the effective management of risks in the procurement process.  Practice case studies and exercises will be used within the course and participants will be required to undertake simulated risk and fraud analyses using the methodologies. 

PROC060

In this course, participants will learn to evaluate procurement activities to make decisions related to sourcing strategies and whether to use existing or new sources. Participants will be provided with the means to make an analysis on whether it is more cost-effective to procure nationally, internationally or globally.

PROC070

This course provides participants with the principles and practices of procurement audits and investigations. Participants will be provided with practical ways to monitor, evaluate, audit, control and manage the procurement performance.
