The UWI Open Campus Anguilla Recipient of Chamber of Commerce “Delivering Excellence” And “Enterprise of the Year” Awards

The UWI Open Campus, Anguilla. April 4, 2023 — The University of the West Indies (The UWI) Open Campus Anguilla is the recipient of the Anguilla Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACOCI) “Delivering Excellence” and “Enterprise of the Year” Awards 2023. The Awards were presented at the ACOCI’s seventh annual Starry Night Awards and Gala Dinner on February 4, 2023, at the Aurora Anguilla Resort and Golf Club.

The highly anticipated Gala in celebration of business excellence included the presentation of four awards: The Anguilla Innovative Award2023, The Backing Winners Award 2023, The Delivering Excellence Award 2023 and The Most Promising Business New Business Award 2023. According to President of ACOCI, Mrs. Vida Lloyd-Richardson, “The Awards Ceremony recognizes businesses who are members of the Anguilla Chamber of Commerce and Industry that are inspirational and impactful in their own way.” Among the special guests joining in the celebration were Her Excellency the Governor, Ms. Dileeni Daniel-Selvaratnam, the Honourable Premier, Dr. Ellis L. Webster and Mr. Michel Thomas from the Caribbean Development Bank (CDB) and Caribbean Technological Consultancy Services (CTCS).

The UWI Open Campus Anguilla was awarded the Delivering Excellence Award for its customer focus, going the extra mile in the delivery of outstanding customer service, effective communication, marketing, follow-up and attention to detail. The highlight of the evening was the presentation of the Chamber’s top two Awards: The UWI Open Campus Anguilla was selected as the winner of the "ACOCI Enterprise of the Year Award", while “The Entrepreneur of the Year Award” went to Axcess AI.

The Delivering Excellence Award was sponsored by the Anguilla Tourist Board and the Enterprise of the Year Award was sponsored by Malliouhana Anico Insurance Company (MAICO). Present to accept the Awards were Staff Members Ms. René Henry and Ms. Patricia Bryan and Manager for The UWI Open Campus British Overseas Territories, Dr. Phyllis Fleming-Banks. Dr. Fleming-Banks thanked the Chamber of Commerce and the Sponsors for their recognition of the work of The University on Anguilla and for their continued support.
