A celebratory event, the highlight of the launch will be an overview of the various events staff will be competing in over the course of nine days by Mr Charlton Ali, Manager of the Staff Inter -Campus Games Committee.  A “rallying of the troops” by Campus Team Managers will also take place. They are expected to be joined by enthusiastic athletes from across all four campuses, eager to get the Games off to a rousing start. This will be followed by the long anticipated Staff Games Logo reveal and a viewing of the promotional video, “Grenada! We Comin!” produced exclusively for the Games.

Commenting on the launch of the Games Principal Longsworth said, “hosting the Games is tangible evidence of The UWI’s commitment to its new Strategic Plan of which a key element is staff engagement and the forging of a motivated team.” She added that “The UWI Staff Games allow us to build relationships across the region and to bring together our UWI community in a united way, despite the heated inter-campus competition in the varying sports.

Much like the Games themselves, the launch is an excellent opportunity for camaraderie and sportsmanship. Faculty and staff are encouraged to turn out in their numbers to support their respective teams as they prepare go “higher, faster and stronger” in their quest to bring back the coveted title of “Inter-Campus Games Champions” from Grenada.
