Introduction
A programme to introduce the care of children for persons who are interested in the field but do not have the requisite qualifications to pursue the higher level ECCE.
Who is this programme for?
This programme is mounted for persons involved in the care and development of infants and toddlers.
The modules making up the programme structure are carefully selected to be meingful to the following:
- Workers in daycare centres.
- Childcare helpers in domestic households
- Baby sitters
- Parents
Programme Structure
Classes are held twice/trice weekly, Monday-Friday 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., Saturday 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon, 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
When will the programme start?
This programme starts in August and normally runs for One (1) year.
Entry Requirements
Applicants should have CXC or GCE pass in English Language OR have been employed as a nursery assistant for at least one year and have a sound educational background.
Course of Study
This programme is divided into modules totalling 240 hours, which include 30 hours of practical experience in daycare setting and first aid.
