Course Description
Principles of classroom measurement, including classroom testing, test planning and construction, scoring and grading examinations, test analysis and statistics will be studied. Students learn strategies used in measurement and evaluation of learning.

2. Recognize ambiguous test items and items where students guessed their responses.
3. Determine the mean, median, and the mode, and recognize the effects of these measures on a distribution of scores.
4. Indicate the relationships among standard deviation units and other measures.
5. Improve poorly constructed test items.
6. Determine the standard deviation of a distribution.
7. Write different types of test items such as multiple choices, true or false, essay, matching, and doze type.
8. Recognize the strengths and weaknesses of different type of items.
9. Use a table of specification to obtain a valid evaluation of student learning.
10. Recognize the limitations of assessing student learning.
11. Interpret the difficulty and discrimination index of an item.
12. Construct test items at different cognitive levels.
