Course Description
The course is based on the need to access donor resources for project implementation in both civil society and the public sector. The course will use a participatory and “hands on” approach to developing the ability to write successful proposals.
Participants should come to the course with at least one small to medium-sized project for which they want to access funds. Each participant will take their project idea and develop a proposal during the period of the course. Participants should, if possible, bring information on any potential donors they have already identified.
Course Participants - Who Should Attend
Inclusive but not limited to NGO administrators and staff responsible for grant seeking, grant seekers from private and public sector, consultants, grant writers and grant managers.
Course Objectives
At the end of the course the participant will:
1) Understand what prospective donors are looking for.
2) Understand the importance of good project design to proposal writing.
3) Understand the use of the logical framework approach to project and proposal development.
4) Understand the format for proposals.
5) Have developed one proposal for use by her/his organization.
