This course is designed to give insight into the general nature, roles and functions of higher education. Specific emphasis is placed on understanding these within the context of higher education in the Caribbean.
This seminar is designed to help participants first understand the nature of the research project –dissertation– they are about to undertake. After establishing that framework participants will be helped to determine suitable issues and related topics for research as they reflect on educational issues in their respective contexts. They will also be engaged in a process of determining appropriate research questions and hypotheses based on the problem to be investigated.
