Friday, November 17, 2023—Performing arts take centre stage at The University of the West Indies (The UWI) this weekend with the Grand Finale of the We Rise Talent Showcase. Fifteen talented performers from across the ‘UWIverse’ will vie for the top spots and cash prizes in the virtual talent showcase on Saturday, November 18, 2023.

The Lecture will be moderated by Ms Althea Gordon, Campus Registrar, The UWI Global Campus and will take place at 6:00 PM (Eastern Caribbean)/ 5:00 PM (Jamaica)/4:00 PM Belize.

The UWI Regional Headquarters, Jamaica W.I. Wednesday, April 25, 2023 — To mark its 75th anniversary (1948-2023), The University of the West Indies has made a call for indigenous entrepreneurs and small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) to partner with the University on a UWI 75th Anniversary Signature Collection.
The initiative, part of the year-long celebration under the theme: UWI at 75. Rooted. Ready. Rising, aims to support the discovery and promotion of Caribbean creatives and entrepreneurs from among The UWI’s staff, student and alumni populations.
Basseterre, St. Kitts, March 30, 2023 (SKNIS): A National Inter-faith Thanksgiving Service in Celebration of the 75th Anniversary of the Founding of The University of the West Indies (UWI) was held in St. Kitts at the Wesley Methodist Church on Tuesday, 28th March, 2023.
The theme for UWI’s 75th Anniversary is “Rooted Ready Rising”. The University of the West Indies, originally University College of the West Indies was established in 1948 to serve the higher education needs of the residents of the English-speaking Caribbean region.

Thursday, January 12, 2023—Staff, students, retirees, alumni, partners, and friends of The University of the West Indies (The UWI) turned out at the University Chapel at the Mona Campus in Jamaica on Sunday, January 8 for an Interfaith Convocation Service which signalled the start of the University’s 75th anniversary celebrations.
