Meet Kerrie Ellis-Worrell

Mrs. Kerrie Ellis-Worrell has served as an educator for many years. Her induction into the field of Education started when she first worked as an IT Instructor at the Barbados Institute of Management and Productivity (BIMAP). She hit the ground running after discovering that educating others was her passion and she has continued in this vein ever since this time. She, for example, later worked as a CXC ICT teacher in the Netherlands Antilles before returning home to take up the posts of a Part-time Associate Degree ICT Lecturer, CXC ICT tutor, and Programme Manager (at various

times) while stationed at the UWIOC Pine Site in Barbados.

Mrs. Ellis-Worrell was thrilled to have joined the APAD Division in 2010 as an Assistant Curriculum Development Specialist and has functioned as a Curriculum Development Specialist with the UWI Open Campus since 2014.

As a Co-founder of the River of Life Charity No. 984 (2012 to 2021), a registered charity in Barbados, it was through the Charity that she sought to provide rehabilitation for mentally challenged,

physically disabled and marginalized persons in her country. The work of the charity allowed her to present to Her Royal Highness Princess Ann and delegates of the Caribbean Canadian Emerging Leaders Dialogue (CCELD) on the River of Life Organic Farming Project in 2015.

Mrs. Ellis-Worrell is passionate about teaching, learning, farming, personal growth and curriculum development. She also serves as an Assistant Reverend and Bible teacher for a fast-growing international church ministry based within her home country. She now wishes to especially thank Dr. Denise Gaspard-Richards, Mrs. Vivienne Harding and all those persons that allowed her to grow and to discover her hidden potential in the area of Education.
