Offices, Committees and Advisory Boards

The Office of the Deputy Principal is supported by several vital units and committees that enhance our strategic vision and initiatives:

Units:

  • Business Development Unit (BDU): Dedicated to fostering partnerships and driving innovation, the BDU enhances the University’s outreach and development efforts, identifying new opportunities and resources. Visit http://global.uwi.edu/bdu
  • Enterprise Resource Planning Unit (ERP): Essential for streamlining processes, the ERP Unit ensures effective resource management across the University, focusing on efficiency and high-quality service delivery.
  • Student Experience Unit (SEU): This unit serves as a vital support system for students, undertaking continuous monitoring of overall student satisfaction with Campus services. The Student Experience Unit works diligently to address concerns and enhance the student journey.

Committees:

  • Academic Board Sub-Committee on Student Matters (ABSCSM): This committee reviews decisions on student requests for adjustments to registration or academic records, including Leave of Absence, course drops, and late withdrawals. Students wishing to make adjustments after the registration period must submit an online application with supporting documents, which may include employment letters, birth certificates, and other relevant paperwork.   • Campus Quality Management Team (CQMT): Co-chaired by the Deputy Principal, this team works collaboratively to promote the University’s Quality Management System. The CQMT monitors the implementation of The UWI Quality Policy, reflecting our commitment to excellence in teaching, research, governance, and public service.
     
  • Academic Quality Assurance Committee (AQAC): Meeting quarterly, or as needed, the AQAC is responsible for approving and monitoring policies and procedures for undergraduate and pre-university programming. Chaired by the Deputy Principal, the committee reviews proposals to ensure the academic and financial integrity of all programs and initiatives.
     
  • Campus Evaluations and Promotions Committee (EPC): The CEPC evaluates academic staff and programs to ensure adherence to quality standards. This committee plays a key role in reviewing promotion applications, contributing to the overall development and recognition of faculty excellence.
     
  • Information and Communication Technology Committee (ICT): This committee ensures that ICT decisions and policies align with the operational and strategic goals of The UWI Global Campus. It emphasises good governance, compliance, and risk mitigation to maximise value for the University.
