Greeting from the UWI Global Campus Association of Postgraduate Student Executive.        

My name is Shawnecia Smart from the volcanic soils of St. Vincent of Grenadines. As the President of the   Global Campus Association of Postgraduate Students (GCAPS) for the academic year 2025/2026, I am excited to announce that my team and I are ready and committed to service you, our post graduate student community. We are committed to improving student engagement, academic achievement, teamwork and building an active and supporting environments for all. 

Our primary goal is creating a postgraduate community where all voices are heard, experience is shared, diverse cultures are celebrated, and all students feel welcomed. You, your concerns and your goals matter! It is our duty to be an advocate for your needs, providing you with the tools and support needed to excel both academically and personally. We will promote initiatives that support your emotional, mental, and physical wellbeing and create an environment where you are likely to flourish. We collaborate with stakeholders to develop opportunities for knowledge exchange and career development. We promise to be open, honest and offer regular communication as well as keep you posted and engaged and solicit your input.

I invite you to join us and share your ideas, get involved in activities, connect with your peers, take advantage of the many opportunities offered by GCAPS and strengthen our community together! Your time here is not just about being stimulated intellectually and ending at the finish line. It is about growth, meaningful memories, celebrating your progress and achievements and celebrating the person you’ve become because of those experiences. Together, We Can Make it Happen!

Morissa Morgan
GCAPS Vice President - Academics & Administration 2025/2026


Greetings, my fellow students. I am Morissa Morgan is from the beautiful island of St. Vincent and the Grenadines. I am currently pursuing an MSc. in Management Studies (Project Management) My academic journey with the university began when I completed my BSc. in Human Resource Management, and I’ve remained active and committed student ever since. Throughout my tenure at the university, I have been passionate about student representation and development. I served on the local Guild of Students Executives in the capacity of Chapter Secretary 2022/2023 and then as Vice Chapter Chairperson 2023/2024. These roles gave me the opportunity to advocate for my fellow students and contribute to meaningful initiatives that supported their academic and personal growth.

I am known for my strong work ethic, leadership abilities, and genuine passion to learn and
grow.  I am confident in my abilities to deliver results, as I serve on the Global Campus Association of Postgraduate Students (GCAPS) in the role of Vice President—Academics & Administration 2025/2026. I am committed to working to enhance the students’ experience, promoting academic excellence, and ensuring effective administration within our student body.
  
 

 

Ricardo Whitely
GCAPS - Director of Projects


I am Ricardo Whitely, Currently pursuing a Master of Science degree in Management Studies, Project Management at UWI Global Campus. Throughout my tenure as director of projects, my intentions are to undertake all global campus projects in an efficient and professional manner, including collaborating with all stakeholders for a greater project outcome.

I will also be leading project initiatives by overseeing and managing projects that benefit the student community, such as events, workshops, or campaigns. Additionally, I will assist in fostering student engagement by encouraging student participation and involvement in projects by promoting inclusiveness.
