Emily is a finance and accounting expert with over 30 years of experience and advanced qualifications in strategic financial management and corporate social and environmental accounting and reporting. Emily has a PhD in Accounting (Corporate Social and Environmental Reporting) from the University of Dundee, Scotland (2001). She is a Certified Professional Accountant with CPA Canada having completed the Certified Management Accounting qualifications in 2000. Andrea Burnett PhD
Programme Officer
Andrea serves as the Programme Officer in the Office of the Deputy (ODP), where she manages projects originating from the ODP, conducts research, and provides essential support to the Deputy Principal as Chair of the Academic Quality Assurance Committee (AQAC) and the Academic Board Subcommittee for Student Matters (ABSCSM). Her expertise spans academic programme development, administration, and management, complemented by strong skills in research and data analysis. Andrea holds a Master’s Degree in Educational and Social Research from the University of London and a Doctor of Philosophy in Education from The University of the West Indies, Cave Hill Campus.

Sinead Mohammed
Administrative Assistant
Sinead serves as the Administrative Assistant in the Office of the Deputy Principal (ODP), where she supports the Deputy Principal in her capacity as Chair of the Academic Board Subcommittee for Student Matters (ABSCSM) and collaborates with the Programme Officer on various project management tasks. Sinead holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies with First Class Honours from The University of the West Indies, St. Augustine. In addition to her professional role, she is a self-taught photographer and actively contributes to the Global Campus Virtual Centre for Excellence in Teaching and Learning.

Shari Yearwood
Administrative Assistant
Shari is the Administrative Assistant in the Office of the Deputy Principal (ODP), where she coordinates initiatives, activities, and provides administrative support. Since joining the Global Campus in 2017, she has worked at the Country Site level, the Quality Assurance Unit, and the Business Development Unit, gaining valuable experience in planning, research, coordination, student services, and administrative support. In the ODP, Shari also assists the Deputy Principal as Chair of the Academic Board Subcommittee for Student Matters (ABSCSM) and collaborates with the Programme Officer on project management tasks. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Public Sector Management and a Master’s Degree in Integration Studies from The University of the West Indies, Cave Hill.

Libby Martinez
Research Ethics Administrator
Libby is an innovative business professional with over 20 years of administrative experience. Libby first started her career as an Administrative Assistant while completing her Bachelor Degree in Business Administration from the University of North Florida. After completing her studies, Libby returned home to Belize to work in the family business. Her tenure in the family business would see her work in various aspects of the business as Office Manager, Marketing Officer and Human Resource Manager, among other positions. She joined The UWI family in December 2012, where she worked as Senior Administrative Assistant at the Belize Site until her recent reassignment as Administrator to the Global Campus Research Ethics Committee in the School of Graduate Studies and Research. Libby is currently completing her Masters of Science in Management Studies with The UWI, Global Campus. Her professional interests include acquiring knowledge and exposure in the areas of Labour Relations and Public Sector Reform.
