About CSA

The Caribbean Studies Association (CSA) is an independent professional organization devoted to the promotion of Caribbean studies from a multidisciplinary, multicultural point of view. It is the primary association for scholars and practitioners working on the Caribbean Region (including Central America and the Caribbean Coast of South America). Its members come from the Caribbean Region, North America, South America, Central America, Europe and elsewhere even though more than half of its members live in the United States many of them teaching at U.S. universities and colleges. Founded in 1974 by 300 Caribbeanists, the CSA now has over 1100 members.

The Caribbean Studies Association enjoys non-profit status and is independent of any public or private institution. Membership is open to anyone interested in sharing its objectives, regardless of academic discipline, profession, ideology, place of residence, ethnic origin... Read more

The 10th Anniversary of the Patricia Charles Memorial Lecture to be held at The UWI Global Campus on Thursday 18th April2024 at 7:00 p.m. 

Mrs Patricia Charles was a former Resident Tutor of the School of Continuing Studies in Saint Lucia (now The UWI Global Campus), who dedicated her life to the furtherance of the Arts, Education and Culture in her adopted home – Saint Lucia. Established in 2010, The Patricia Charles Memorial Lecture celebrates her life and work, and has become a much-anticipated fixture on The Open Campus Saint Lucia's annual calendar of events.
 
The lecture entitled, "Rethinking Development: Imperatives for Structural Transformationwill be delivered by Artist, Creative Consultant and Economist, Dr Adrian Augier.
