The UWI Open Campus at a Glance
The UWI Open Campus was launched in 2008 as the online campus of The UWI, with the same rigour and high educational standards that The University of the West Indies is known for regionally and internationally. Over the years, the Campus has developed a unique approach in the Caribbean region to enhancing the student experience in innovative continuing and professional education, undergraduate, and postgraduate programmes through blended, online and face-to-face learning modalities. The Campus currently has over 42 locations in the region, serving 17 countries in the English-speaking Caribbean.
At the Open Campus, there is a strong emphasis on locating issues within a Caribbean context and devising programmes that address national and regional challenges, making The UWI Open Campus the ideal educational institution for the region. We offer a three-tiered registration structure to suit particular needs and educational backgrounds. The system allows our students to move and transfer within the entire University system to reach the required standard.
Our Guiding Principles
The campus’ guiding principles are based on the idea that the high-quality university education, research and services available at our institution should be open and available to all people who wish to reach their full potential, inside and outside of the Caribbean region.
